    Hope I win one.

Can I profess my love for stuffed animals even if it isn’t hidden? :) I slept with so many when I was a kid there was hardly room in the bed for me. Then I have this one teddy bear that I’ve had since 5th grade… that always goes with me if it’s longer than a few days trip.
To the point that I was afraid to co-sleep with my baby because I’m so used to sleeping ON my teddy bear I was afraid I would squish him!
No, I don’t really sleep with him anymore (now that I married!) but the hold-over effect was still there. And he sits right by my bed!

I love stuffed animals! Especially right from the store, all soft and snuggly! My son still has his stuffed dog that he got when he turned one, and he just gave it to his little sister (she’s one now) and said that it was her turn, but he still goes in and steals it to sleep with occasionally.

  10. Stephanie Said:

I love the zoobies. I would love one of those, but really any of the stuffed toys would be nice. My teddy bear disapeared one day after my husband and I had been married for a few months. He found it in the bed and threw it across the room and I have never seen it since. So, it is possible that I will borrow this one (if I win).

  11. april Said:

Hi, my name is April and I’m a stuffed animal addict. I thought I had my habit restrained, then I had kids, lol. I own a webkinz, a furby, beanie babies, and build a bears, plus a well rounded collection from my childhood. I need a zoobie(for my 14 month old of course!)

I love your site first of all!!

I have to say that I love stuffed animals so much that I still have two teddy bears that were given to me at 2 and 3 years old and I am now going on 31!! The one was given to me by my brother-in-law at my 2nd birthday. It winds up and plays “Rock-a-bye Baby” and YES it still works! I would wind that thing up every night and rock myself to sleep with it when I was young. I have since given each of those bears to my son and daughter (ages 4 and 18 months). But I will keep them forever! You can never go wrong with a good stuffed animal to love and have to comfort you! :)

I have a few stuffed animals that are mine, and only mine, and my children know it, and leave them alone (for the most part). There are a couple that my husband sent to me, along with a bouquet, for special occasions, when he was deployed to Iraq, that are very special to me, and that I slept with, without fail, until he came home. And, that I sleep with when is gone for various reasons, with the Marines. I am not ashamed to admit it, either. :)

  26. Carrie Said:

I am a reformed stuffed animal lover. :) I remember I would set up my stuffed animals in corners of my room to display them and they all had to have their faces up so they could breathe. I brought stuffed animals with me to college to decorate my dorm room. I have sadly parted with most of my animals over the 7 years that I’ve been married. My boys have a few of my old ones and they love those. Happy to say I’ve passed on my love of stuffed animals to my 4 year old.

  27. Tonya Said:

Yep, a stuffed animal lover here too. I never really was one (I had a few growing up but wasn’t a collector as such) until I had my first son and got married. My husband gave me a gorgeous Build-A-Bear about 4 years ago when he was in Iraq and I got 3rd degree burns and was in hospital. He sent it to me so it would look out for me when he couldn’t. Everytime I get sick or have to go to hospital that bear comes with me as my sidekick. My 12 year old buys me bears for every occasion. I have ones that say mom on them, I have them with hearts and flowers and all kinds of wonderful things. I’ve passed on the few childhood stuffed animals that I kept onto him and he’s an avid collector, he sleeps with about 20 every night.

Those Zoobie animals are super cute. I love them, especially the hippo, rhino, elephant, lion and monkey. I’ll have to get a few for the twins, they’d love them.

You know that scene in ET, where ET hides in the giant pile of stuffed animals and you don’t even notice him? That would be my oldest son in his bed practically every night. I don’t know how he finds room for himself among his pile-o-friends.

But I guess he comes by it honestly, since I seem to remember having my very own stuffed zoo as a child. And when I went to NYC a few years back, do you know what souvenier I brought back for me? A stuffed dragon wearing a NYC sweater!

So we love us some stuffies in this house and would be very glad to welcome a new friend into our lives!

  45. Karyn Said:

Hmmmm……..don’t we all love stuffed animals. But even as a kid, the cheapo ones that you win on the boardwalk or at an amusement park that weren’t filled with soft stuff……hated them. They have to be real.

I couldn’t give up my favorite stuffed dog from childhood, and I kept it in a shoebox at my parents’ house. When my daughter turned four I gave her the dog and explained that it was a very old friend of Mommy’s and he wanted to be her friend too. Then I saw her dragging him by the ear and bouncing her Barbie’s on him - I had to take him back! Now he rests on top of my mirror, safe and sound and I enjoy looking at him every morning.

Those stuffed animals have now become the kids’ toys. . .but they still hold a special place in my heart.

I have one stuffed animal that I truly have had my entire life. I got it as a gift the day I was born. My grandparents brought it to me in the hospital. I still have it this day. It sits in my daughter’s crib and she plays with it daily. It’s been through a few “surgeries” a neck re-stitching, 2 leg sew re-attatchments, and a tail re-attachmennt! LOL But he’s still kicking, and still putting a smile on both of our faces! : )

  152. HeatherAnn Said:

My daughter has bad eczema, allergies & asthma, so of course the allergy & asthma friendly ones are interesting to me.
It would be a nice surprise to win any of them though!!
    Cute!

  153. Cathie Said:

I love stuffed animals and it’s no big secret. My granddaughter and I call them “cuddlies” she always checks with me before getting a new “cuddly” to make sure its “just right”

  154. Michelle Said:

I LOVE stuffed animals. I had a bunch as a kid, but My Mom got rid of most of them. Now I have to use my son as a “reason” why I need to get some more. :)

  155. Debbie Said:

I was deprived as a child - not much in the way of stuffed animals. I got my first teddy bear when I bought myself one in college. Since then, I have gotten a few. :) LOVE the soft cuddly ones. My favorite are the panda bears, so my dd (age 5) has taken on that love as well, and now sleeps with two stuffed pandas, one named Panda (she’s had him for about 3 years now, and he goes places with us often), and the other named Peanut.

  156. K. Cleaver Said:

When I was growing up I remember my mom unstuffing several of my stuffed animals and restuffing them. Wish they’d had these years ago.

  157. Michelle Said:

My love isn’t so hidden, I’m afraid. I still have my first stuffed animals: my Bugs from Kiddie Kingdom still has a place of honor on my bed. Paddington Bear that I “stole” as a two year old (I didn’t know how Toy ‘R Us worked, I swear, and my gram bought him for me after I walked out the store) is in the lower level playroom for my kids to play with (still wearing the vest I made for him when I was in the fifth grade). And my little dog that wound up to play a lullabye while its head wound in slow circles is on my daughter’s shelf in her bedroom.

Beyond that, I have Patrick the Pup (the big one) from FAO Schwartz that an ex-BF bought for me many moons ago. While I let my cats periodically misbehave by dumping over cups of water or jumping on the coffee table, if I see them going near Patrick, I break out the spray bottle and shoo them away.

I also have four ride on jungle animals (giraffe, elephant, tiger and lion) that hold up to 150 pounds each (they’re only about 2 feet tall — and yes, I did say *only*) that I bought for … my kids. About a year before I got pregnant with my son (he was a blessed accident).

I have the original Santa Bear (for those who remember Daytons before it was even Dayton Hudson), as well as Mrs Santabear and three others. They also ride on the jungle animals — two astride each animal.

When I quit work to stay home with my kids, a woman I work with went to the department store chain I worked on and found *their* version of Santabear and gave that to me as my going away present. This dog also has a place of honor on my bed with Bugs.

My lower level is finished and where we have the kids’ playroom. One entire wall is filled with the animals that were once mine and now “belong” to my kids, although certain one (Patrick) requires my permission and supervision to play with.

I’ve yet to have to buy my kids a single stuffed animal because they have plenty of mine to pass down… and then some. That hasn’t stopped me though. When I was in NYC in January, I came home with a Pooh dressed for winter for Mister Man and a dog dressed in a plaid coat for Little Miss.

I think I need to join SAA.
