Healthy Eating at a Glance
I have two toddler girls (sympathy much?), and knowing what to feed them in what proportions can be a difficult task while I’m cleaning spilled yogurt while fixing dinner while looking my absolute best in my fancy t-shirt and perfectly un-coiffed hair.
I’m so glad to have discovered the kid’s plates Super Healthy Kids to help me quickly see how much of each food group to serve my kiddos. The plate gets major bonus points for being so cute and attractive to my girls. Bonus, bonus - the plate is super durable. That way I don’t have to worry if my little Trouble decides to see how far she can throw her beans and her plate together. Triple bonus - the plate is ONLY $5.99!
Amy, the President of Super Healthy Kids, says this about her plate: “It’s not about denying, depriving, measuring, disciplining etc. It can be about enjoying wonderful, whole, natural food and realizing you feel better when you eat well. And the more the kids learn, the more empowered they will be to make good choices on their own.” Amy has blog that features healthy eating tips for kids at http://blog.superhealthykids.com/. Check it out for some great tips on how to trick teach your kids to eat healthy foods.

My daughter loves avocado and olives!
My daughter has not met a fruit or vegetable yet that she doesn’t like. I know…I am blessed in that regard. That being said, she is not the biggest meat eater so that is where we struggle. Her favorite fruit is grapes (green and crunchy) and her absolute all time favorite veggie is mushrooms (any way, any how, any time). She actually steals my husbands mushrooms because he doesn’t like them!
apple
Our daughter’s favorite are strawberries!
My daughter loves broccoli and apples and really anything. She’s a great eater.
Tara’s last blog post..Grandma’s birthday
My sons faves are brocolli and grapes!

My daughter’s favs are watermelon and brocolli. My son’s are grapes and peas. Thanks for the chance.
My daughter loves everything green: broccoli, cucumbers, green beans.
I teach preschool and I used this idea to teach my students about healthy eating. It is so much more real world to them than say, a food pyramid. They totally get the concept with a visual like this plate. I paired the book More Spaghetti, I Say (making yourself sick only eating one type of food) and had a great lesson. The kids loved it so much I had to buy them all a plate. They were thrilled! Thanks for the great idea.
The plates are great! My 17-month old will eat any fruit under the sun, but to this day will only eat one veggie…baby peas. Steamed, untouched baby peas. He loves them, and will eat a full cup or more in one sitting.
He’ll eat any fruit and loves broccoli!
Apples or grapes are the fav fruits for my picky 3 year old. Veggies, what are veggies?? (we’re working on it!!)

Apples, bananas and carrots
My 3 year old son eats raw spinach by the handful because of a fun game my husband taught him at a young(er) age; see how small you can fold the spinach leaf and then stuff it in your mouth. His most favorite fruit is blueberries, or “boobies” as he called them when he was only 18 months old and could barely talk. We still laugh about him saying “I wuv boobies!” Talking, of course, about blueberries.
I teach preschool (three year olds) and this would be an awesome thing to have to teach our little ones about propotions (never too early to start!)
My grandson who is a little over a years eats all the vegetables.
Very neat! The plates are so cute! I think I might have to get some for my friends too!
