Your Name on… Wood!

EVERY kid I know loves to see anything with their name on it, especially my kids. Knowing this, I have happily reviewed personalized art by Little Painted Polkadots. Adorable is hardly the word to describe the painted plaques offered at LPP.

My girls received a whimsical penguin and a princess crown to adorn their rooms. We immediately put them up on their walls (shocker for me - I wait weeks months to put up wall art). The girls show off their art to nearly everyone who comes to visit.

LPP has so many other kid’s stuff to offer like tutus, wall letters, photo frames, and growth charts. Customization down to the animal or colors is available to all customers. Just ask!

Little Painted Polkadots is offering a 12″ x 12″ Name Art on Canvas ($25 value) for Mamas Like readers. Enter a (that means one and only one) comment here by Monday, April 21, at 11:59pm EST, letting Lisa at LPP know where you would hang your new wall art.

Just for Mamas Like readers, take 15% off your orders from Little Painted Polkadots using code ~MAMA15.

Write Right

I know it’s bad grammar, but it sounded good for this title of this review for Fun and Sassy Designs. With the stationery and announcements found at FSD, you will be writing right. Or correctly. (Forgive me, I was a teacher in a former life.)

I’m a softy for cute stationery, so being introduced to this site is just fun at my fingertips. As you know, I’m not a classy lady, but with the notes, cards, and announcements on Jen’s site, I can act like one. Just look at that card <—–. You just know the person who sent that is classy even if she is wearing her best sweats and banana hair clip like me while addressing the envelopes.

Throwing a bridal or baby shower, BBQ, or fiesta and inviting me in the near future? Checkout the ginormous selection of chic invitations at Fun and Sassy Designs like the snazzy one here —–>. I just wish I’d known all about this stationery when I had my girls so I could tell my shower-throwers to get on the ball and send out the cute invites from FSD!

I’ll be using the coupon code offered to Mamas Like readers for 10% off on my order for SOMEbody’s baby shower in the next 4-5 months. Enter code ~ mamas10 ~ at Fun and Sassy Designs for 10% off your order.

Want a spare $50 to spend at FSD? Enter a (that means one and only one) comment here by Friday, March 28th, at 11:59pm EST, letting Jen know for what purpose you’d use your $50 gift card.

Check back at Mamas Like or on Prizey.Fetch to see if you’re the big winner!

Healthy Eating at a Glance

I have two toddler girls (sympathy much?), and knowing what to feed them in what proportions can be a difficult task while I’m cleaning spilled yogurt while fixing dinner while looking my absolute best in my fancy t-shirt and perfectly un-coiffed hair.

I’m so glad to have discovered the kid’s plates Super Healthy Kids to help me quickly see how much of each food group to serve my kiddos. The plate gets major bonus points for being so cute and attractive to my girls. Bonus, bonus - the plate is super durable. That way I don’t have to worry if my little Trouble decides to see how far she can throw her beans and her plate together. Triple bonus - the plate is ONLY $5.99!

Amy, the President of Super Healthy Kids, says this about her plate: “It’s not about denying, depriving, measuring, disciplining etc. It can be about enjoying wonderful, whole, natural food and realizing you feel better when you eat well. And the more the kids learn, the more empowered they will be to make good choices on their own.” Amy has blog that features healthy eating tips for kids at http://blog.superhealthykids.com/. Check it out for some great tips on how to trick teach your kids to eat healthy foods.

Wanna win a plate of your own for your kids? Enter a comment here with your kiddo’s favorite fruit or veggie, and we’ll pick TWO winners on Wed, March 12th, at 11:59pm. We’ll post the winners here on MamasLike and on Prizey.Fetch. But don’t worry, we’ll email the 2 winners, too.
So, put down that carrot stick you’re munching on, and enter below!

Crafty Lady

Allison Strine is an artist; a true artist who offers her work for sale to everyone to enjoy. In her Etsy store, Allison Strine Designs, she offers jewelry, magnets, and cards all with her personal design. I found Allison from another review, and after discovering her magnets, I bought 5. I couldn’t decide on my favorite design, so I bought a bunch!

My favorite designs include the quotes about “She.” “She” is the every-woman that we all know inside ourselves. “She” is the embodiment of all of us women. “She” is me. And Allison created her for me to wear, put on my fridge, and admire.

One of the most creative ways Allison creates her art is through her license plate art. In her words, “each very individual charm is created with a real and really old license plate snippet, encased in a glass and silver box of beauty.” Not only is she recycling like a good little citizen, but she is creating fanTAStic art to wear.

If you haven’t yet heard of Etsy, RUN CLICK on over now after you enter for the giveaway. Etsy is one of the best sites on the internet, and it is THE best site for finding handmade art sold by the artists themselves.

Own your own art that speaks to you. Ms. Artiste, Allison, is offering a giveaway of a $35 gift certificate to her Etsy store just for Mamas Like readers. Leave a comment here letting Allison know which “She” quote is your favorite to enter in the giveaway. One lucky winner will be chosen on Wed, March 5th, at 11:59pm EST. The winner will be posted here on Mamas Like and on Prizey Winners.

Hot for Teacher Gifts

As a girl, I love stuff with my name on it. (Maybe it’s my ego, but I love seeing that “A” on stuff.) And as a former teacher, I love companies that make stuff with my name on it AND for teachers. What could be better? At My Little Monkey Boutique, you can put it all together for some personalized teacher goodness.

I was able to personalize my note cards down to the color of her hair, the clothes, and of course, the name. And because I’m no longer a teacher (rather, a channel to bring you, my blog friends, the best from moms), I designed the personalized stationery specially for my teacher friend as a gift. So, if you love your kiddo’s teacher (as you SHOULD, even if you don’t - make sense?), she deserves girlie stuff with her name on it.

Show of hands - who loves giveaways? (Do it - raise your hand.) My Little Monkey Boutique is giving away a set of 20 personalized teacher note cards to one of our lucky readers. Comment here to let MLMB know which design is your favorite for the teacher in your life. And if you’re a homeschool mama (or daddy), win some for yourself! You deserve it! Giveaway is open until Tues, Feb 26 at 11:59pm EST.

But aren’t you all lucky just for reading what I write? Just for that, My Little Monkey Boutique is giving our fab readers 10% off your rders until the end of May with coupon code LIKE10.

Valentine’s Day Chocolate

Red ThreadDoesn’t that just sound like it goes together? Valentine’s Day & Chocolate. Isn’t that why Hallmark invented Valentine’s Day? So we can eat as much chocolate as we can fit into our bellies and not feel guilty? (Am I asking too many questions?)

The chocolates that are hand-made (yes, hand-made) at Red Thread Confections, need to be your guilt-free pleasure for V-Day. I cannot express to you how GOOOOD these chocolates are to eat/enjoy/inhale. As Backpack says, “Yum Yum Yum Yum Yum! Delicioso!” Eat Me

Dawn wrote her review a few weeks ago that included a free box of chocolates from Red Thread Confections. And because these chocolates are incredibly goood, they’re giving away ANOTHER medium variety box of hand-made chocolates! Since Dawn’s review, Red Thread has lowered their shipping costs. Now you have NO excuse for not buying your chocolates.

Leave a comment here telling us which chocolate you think would be your favorite, and we’ll pick a winner on Sunday, Feb 10.

Rock the Vote ~ Toddler-Style

Emily AllynIf you’re like me, when you have kids, you start paying more attention to the world around us and the impact we have on others. We all want the best for our little princes & princesses, angels & hellions. As you know, the election season is upon us (BTW - if you didn’t know, turn off Dora and turn on the news every other week or so), and we all have to pay attention to what the politicians are politicking. In the end, we must make a choice and stand by that choice as to whom we want leading our country.

Emily AllynEmily at Emily Allyn has made her choice - to make adorable clothes for kids (sorry - couldn’t help myself from the obvious pun) that show your allegiance to your choice in politics. Go ahead - use your kids to further your cause and fetch your shoes. Emily Allyn’s designs are printed on American Apparel t-shirts which are made of soft, quality fabric constructed right here in the USofA. Even if you don’t get your wee child a political party shirt, pick another design like “little monkey,” “peanut,” or “sweet pea” to support American-made products.

Right now, Emily Allyn is offering free shipping on all orders of $20 or more (no coupon code required). Want your own “little democrat” or “little republican” shirt for your little citizen? Leave a comment here with your favorite design (no need to affiliate yourself in the comment if you don’t wanna), and we’ll chose TWO winners to receive your choice of an Emily Allyn design! Giveaway ends on Feb 11.
