Easy Family Cooking
I’ll admit. I am NO cook. I’m a food fixer/heater/preparer/microwaver. When I received my copy of My Family Meal Planner, I thought it was going to be just another cookbook fibbing to me about easy cooking.
Much to my joy, I was happy to find the My Family Meal Planner includes VERY simple, normal meals that are really easy to modify and prepare. The BEST feature of the My Family Meal Planner is the shopping list. The Planner’s writer, Lindsay, is kind enough to include 12 months of Shopping Lists that follow the weekly meal plan.
I believe that Lindsay is a real person who is cooking for real people. I believe this because every week’s plan doesn’t include 7 days of meals; it includes only 4. Realistically, what busy family eats all 7 dinners at home that were cooked from scratch? Definitely NOT my family. Thanks to Lindsay, you have help with 4 dinners a week!
The Planner includes great recipes for simple dinners that even your pickiest of eaters will enjoy like baked pasta, tacos, and sloppy joes. If you are a fancy-pants chef, this planner is not for you. This planner is for the everyday family in need of some help in the kitchen (like me).
Just in time for holiday gift giving, Lindsay has added a 2nd Planner to her store. Now you can have 2 Planners on hand for any family.
Just for our readers, Lindsay is offering 10% off your orders using coupon code MAMASTEN. This Planner is a GREAT gift for “everyday” family.

And So We Meet
Dawn and her brood flew into town today, and the whole city was chilled. No really. She brought in the cold from the
Midwest. Well, cold for Orlando. In the 70s. On her blog yesterday, Dawn wrote about the pending weather forecast, but I have positive vibes out that it will NOT rain, just stay niiice and cool.
The fam and I drove down to her family’s hotel tonight to meet and have dinner. Let me tell you. This place is A.W.E.S.O.M.E. They are staying in a 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom, 6th-story villa overlooking the pools (yes, pools) and lake. She says it’s bigger than her house. Seriously. AND it has a jet tub. Fabulous!
SeaWorld has set them up right!
About Dawn’s kids, no matter what she might say, her kids are incredible. I have only two toddlers of my own, and that’s a handful. With six kids, I couldn’t even imagine traveling across the country. But I would with her kids. They are kind, they are well-behaved, they are agreeable, and they LISTEN for the most part! Granted, I was witnessing all of this when they had just
flown into a dream vacation, so I’m sure the fear of God was instilled in them to behave. They are great kids!
During dinner we met Casper. A bird. On the shoulder of a strange toothless man. Who approached our kids without asking permission. It was kind of creepy, but like any other crazy mother, we grabbed our cameras and clicked.
We’ll be meeting up again on Saturday at SeaWorld, so we’ll have lots more to tell you about then! Dawn doesn’t have a computer with her unless I take mine for her to borrow (like I did tonight), so if you’d like to leave her a comment here instead of her main blog, please do! LOOK! She vacation blogs, too! Well, at least checks her hundreds of emails.

New and Improved Site Coming Soon & SeaWorld
I think this blog is a good idea and I fully intend to continue reviewing products and businesses, but I’m going to be making some changes to the blog in the next couple weeks. I’m new to this computer stuff and honestly, your average squirrel has more computer knowledge than I do, so I’m learning as I go.
I didn’t expect to get several hundred requests in the first week. In fact, it’s been rather overwhelming and I had been wondering just what I’d gotten myself into. After talking to my friend Angie from Good for the Kids, I decided I could definitely use some help with this project. (She’s got computer skills, and she can spell!) So, she’ll be helping me out with the review blog. In a couple weeks, we should have the new and improved review blog, “Mamas Like”, up and running. Yay!
For my readers, I will still highlight businesses and products over the next 2-3 weeks on this blog. When we get the new blog going, we’ll still be doing reviews for WAHMs. Nothing will change for the readers. For those who have emailed me about your site, sit tight. I have your emails filed away and will get back to you shortly.
For now, stop by Good For The Kids and check it out if you haven’t had the chance to yet. Next week, I’ll be reviewing another WAHM’s company that I’m really excited about! Check in Monday to learn more!
I will be taking the following week off because I’ll be out of town. I’m thrilled to announce that the wonderful people at Discovery Cove and Sea World in Orlando are flying my whole family to Florida for a vacation! They’ve arranged a limo to take us to the airport, and a rental van for the time we’re in Orlando! They’re sending us to Discovery Cove to SWIM WITH THE DOLPHINS! We’ll be spending a day at Sea World while we’re there too! And we’re staying in this most awesome hotel! Can you imagine? Us! We would never in a million years be able to afford a vacation like this. Ever. We camp. That’s it. My kids are counting down the days until we leave. We’re all so excited. Well, I’m not exactly looking forward the flight with all the kids (namely the 1 and the 3 year olds). I can’t imagine them sitting still in such a contained environment and behaving for that long, but I hear Benedryl does wonders!
Actually, I think we’ll have to borrow a DVD player or I fear the other passengers will toss us overboard. Ha - that just brought back a memory. When I was a kid, my family did a fair amount of traveling. Everytime we flew on a plane, my mom would tell my sister and me that if we didn’t behave, we’d have to ride on the wing of the plane. We believed her and we always behaved. It didn’t occur to us that we’d never actually seen any kids riding on the wing of the plane. Nope, we simply behaved. Of course if I threaten my little ones with this, they’ll undoubtedly misbehave on purpose just to get a chance to ride on the wing of the plane.
