Things Around Mamas Like are Changing

We are shaking things up around here. And it’s ALL good for you WAHMs/WAOMs/WAHDs/entrepreneurs!

Dawn has been SO incredibly busy with her new book and new website and SIX kids, we’ve decided to add in another reviewer. And luckily for all of you mamas (and dadas) out there, our new reviewer is a pro. (Like a REAL promotions guru.)

We’re welcoming Jackie to the Mamas Like team. Jackie is Angie’s sister, and she’s having her first baby this October. By adding Jackie to the Mamas Like review team, we’re expanding our focus to include items and sites focusing on newborns and infants. Once Baby Wally is born Jackie will be a WAOM (work-at-office-mom) continuing her work as a promotions/marking/public relations professional for a Fortune 500 company.

Submit your product/website for review
Please visit our Submit page for more details on how to submit your products and websites for review. Jackie is ready and waiting to review your new mom and baby products.

Advertise
We’ve just changed and lowered our advertising prices, and we invite you to please check them out. Selling on the internet is all about exposure - the more you’re seen around the internet, the more people will want to shop at your store.

My Girl’s a Pretty Ballerina Princess

I have two girls - one 4 and one 2. My 2-year-old has many words used to describe her like girlie, shoe-hound, and “KONG.” But that’s for another day. My 4-year-old on the other hand, “prissy” and “princess” are two words I don’t use to describe her. She loves sports, computers, and penguins. But a girlie-girl, she’s not.

Ballerina GirlAt least I thought not.

That was until I received the Fairy Princess Ballerina in a box dress up outfit from My Princess Closet. In 2.5 seconds flat, my non-prissy 4-year-old daughter became a Pretty Princess Ballerina. Complete with tutu and leotard, she danced around the house as a princess not wanting to take it off.

Oh, did I mention it was Daddy Date Night that night? Yes, my non-prissy Pretty Princess Ballerina went out on Daddy Date Night in her full costume of tutu and leotard.

My Princess ClosetIf my non-prissy-turned-Pretty-Princess-Ballerina 4-year-old can be changed in 2.5 seconds, just think what your already-prissy daughter would do for a Ballerina in a Box. Faint? Jump for joy? Quit whining for a whole 30 minutes? Take your pick, but either way, it’s a win-win situation for you both.

Just in time for that dreaded shopping season winter, Dawn at My Princess Closet has added a Snow Princess Ballerina in a Box to her store. It’s pretty friggin cute if you ask me.

Discount
Just for Mamas Like readers, Dawn is offering a hard-to-pass-up 15% off coupon with code MAMAS15 good through December 31, 2008. And with the $5 shipping every day, you have have to load up your shopping cart on all of the cute stuff at My Princess Closet.Hey! You can eat cupcakes in your Ballerina outfit!

Giveaway
I hope you didn’t just scroll down to the giveaway details and miss out on my precious story. If so, boo to you. Go back and read.

Now that you’ve read up about my nauseatingly cute story, here are the details about the giveaway. My Princess Closet is giving away a Ballerina in a Box (value $48) to one lucky reader! Leave a comment below including the name of your favorite non-’in a box’ item at My Princess Closet. Please leave one comment per day, per household (max of 7 comments per household). We’ll pick a winner on Tuesday, September 23rd, at 11:59pm EST. The winner will be notified here on Mamas Like, via email and on Prizey.Winners.

Nothing Like It, and I LOVE It

I get all kinds of requests for reviewing children’s products, but rarely do I get to review fun stuff just because they’re fun. And that makes Mama happy. I love me some kiddie stuff, but I like quirky stuff just for me, too.

Nothing Like ItAnd I love Robin at Nothing Like It for sending my my own crazy critter coasters to brighten up my messy house. She sent my own flavor from our home state of Florida - a pink flamingo coaster!

Robin creates her art from polymer (I don’t know what it is either) and is the perfect addition to any quirky household (like mine). Who doesn’t want a squished cartoon animal sitting on their end table ready to support a beer glass? If you don’t, then check out her magnet mini critters or doll creations. Personally, giving one of these silly pieces of art say something about your crazy self. (It says, “I’m silly, and so can you!”)

The best thing about Robin’s Nothing Like It Etsy store is she will custom create just about anything you can imagine just for you or your giftee. Dream it, and she’ll make it. (I’m considering having her create a penguin and elephant for my girls.)

Discount
She’s also offering a 10% discount* to Mamas Like readers now through September 19th.

Nothing Like ItGiveaway
For our readers only, Robin is giving away one of her ‘A Flat Cow Critter Coasters’ (value of $18). To win the cow, visit Nothing Like It and comment below with your favorite Nothing Like It character AND a suggestion for a coaster she has not made yet (she loves new ideas!). (Sorry, but if your comment does not include the name of a Nothing Like It product, you cannot win.) One comment per person, per day - come back daily for your chance to win! Comments are open until Tuesday, September 9th, 11:59pm EST. The winner will be posted here on MamasLike, notified via email, and on Prizey.Fetch.

*Etsy stores do not have the abilities to use coupon codes in their checkout. To redeem your 10% off discount, enter “MAMAMIA” in the “Notes to Seller” upon checkout and wait for a revised invoice that reflects the discount before you complete your payment. It sounds confusing, but trust me - it’s worth it.
