Cutest *squeak* Shoes *squeak* Ever

Pipsqueak ShoesI have the JOY of receiving a lot of different things to review for this site.

Luckily, I have the pleasure of reviewing these awesome shoes from Avery’s Place for my daughter. Not only are they the absolute cutest shoes I’ve ever seen for kids, they are very well-made with lots of detail and comfortable. (Well, I image they’re comfortable.)

What’s even cuter - they squeak with every step!

When you have a child like my Bear who tends to go “exploring” on her own in stores, they’re perfect for keeping track of her. We tried the shoes out last night in Best Buy, and we received so many compliments and “look-how-cutes” as we walked around. If you don’t need the squeaker, they can be removed, so you can still have your fab shoes without the squeak.

Visit Avery’s Place to see all of the available Pipqueak shoes, and while you’re there, check out some of their other adorable items for kids as well. There’s a Fall sale going on now!

I didn’t realize these shoes squeaked when I first opened the box. I cracked up when Brooklyn took off walking and squeaking through the house. These shoes are absolutely adorable! They have sturdy rubber soles to protect baby’s feet, but they’re flexible at the same time so they’re comfortable for little growing toes.

I am loving this brown and pink combination for fall!

What a great way to keep track of little wanderers. And if those little squeaks start to get on your nerves, the squeakers can be removed from the heels.

Avery’s Place Pipsqueak shoes get two thumbs up from these Mamas!

Along Came a Spider…

…and sat down beside her on the comfy, cozy Tuffet!

I love my Tuffet!  I mean, the kids’ Tuffet.  Not only is it ideal for sitting upon while eating your curds and whey, but it’s a nice comfy place to nap when you have a fever from your ear infections.

203.JPG

It’s a great cushion for babies just learning to sit up by themselves.  When they topple over, they have a soft landing on the Tuffet.  I like products that have multiple uses and can be utilized for more than a couple months.  The Tuffet is useful far after your baby has mastered sitting by himself.  All three of my little ones snuggled up on it and watched a movie this afternoon.  The older kids have sprawled across it to play video games.  My husband has even lain across it while playing with the baby on the floor.

The pockets on the sides are ideal for storing crushed animal crackers, chewed gum, and markers (not that I condone this).  But like Angie said, the covers are removable and washable which is a huge plus in my book!

Check out these Tuffets which are available in a variety of colors and fabrics and enter to win a free one here!  Just type FREE TUFFET in the comments section of the page.

Little Miss Muffet, Sat on Her “Tuffet”

You can call me Miss Muffet, because I sit on my new Tuffet.

From Made by a Mom, The Tuffet is a large, round floor bean bag perfectly made for your living room. The Tuffet was originally designed for newborn babies to lay on and not hurt themselves if they happened to roll over. As your child grows, The Tuffet can also be used as a place for children (and us parents) to relax upon and watch TV or play video games. It is not a suggested use, but my two girls have quickly learned that The Tuffet doubles as a landing pad.

The Tuffet The Tuffet is available in a variety of different fabrics and colors and each come with two pockets for storing diapers, books, or remote controls. Each Tuffet is also equipped with a handle to be easily dragged across the room transported. At nearly 3 feet across, the round Tuffet is completely washable with an outer liner that can be removed and thrown into the washer after your toddler attacks it with a marker/crayon/juice box.

Upon her TuffetThe Tuffet is not your ordinary bean bag. It is made for sitting upon, laying a baby down, or lounging back on while your husband plays his new video game spending hours in front of the TV watching educational shows on Discovery. It may sound like a large addition to your house, but it can also serve as extra floor seating for your guests.

Support a mom, and please check out The Tuffet and its many uses at Made by a Mom. My living room floor would be amiss without my new Tuffet.

Want to WIN a Tuffet of your own? Go to The Tuffet Contact Page and type FREE TUFFET in the comment section. Wendy will draw a winner Saturday, November 3rd, and contact lucky winner! Waiting to purchase a Tuffet until after the winner is drawn? If you happen to win one one Saturday and purchase one this week, you’ll get your money back.

Check out Dawn’s review of her new Tuffet when she returns home from her amazing trip to SeaWorld!

Shamu’s Not the Only One Getting Wet

Dawn and I met up today with our 8 kids together at SeaWorld. It’s a 6/2 kid ratio, with her being the 6, me being the 2. Her kids are awesome, and they are having a great time! Yesterday was their day at Discovery Cove, and from what she told me, she can’t WAIT to share the awesome time they had! Here’s a teaser - PRIVATE CABANA. I’m jealous!

Today is a pretty dreary day here in Orlando, and when you’re at a theme park, you tend to see a lot of shows under cover to avoid the rain. At least it’s not cold - just 100% humidity. Not like Chicago!

Dawn will be back tomorrow with lots of stories to share. Stay tuned!

And So We Meet

Dawn and her brood flew into town today, and the whole city was chilled. No really. She brought in the cold from theAngie & Dawn Midwest. Well, cold for Orlando. In the 70s. On her blog yesterday, Dawn wrote about the pending weather forecast, but I have positive vibes out that it will NOT rain, just stay niiice and cool.

The fam and I drove down to her family’s hotel tonight to meet and have dinner. Let me tell you. This place is A.W.E.S.O.M.E. They are staying in a 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom, 6th-story villa overlooking the pools (yes, pools) and lake. She says it’s bigger than her house. Seriously. AND it has a jet tub. Fabulous!

SeaWorld has set them up right!

About Dawn’s kids, no matter what she might say, her kids are incredible. I have only two toddlers of my own, and that’s a handful. With six kids, I couldn’t even imagine traveling across the country. But I would with her kids. They are kind, they are well-behaved, they are agreeable, and they LISTEN for the most part! Granted, I was witnessing all of this when they had just Kids with Crazy Birdmanflown into a dream vacation, so I’m sure the fear of God was instilled in them to behave. They are great kids!Spaz with Casper

During dinner we met Casper. A bird. On the shoulder of a strange toothless man. Who approached our kids without asking permission. It was kind of creepy, but like any other crazy mother, we grabbed our cameras and clicked.

Dawn Vacation BloggingWe’ll be meeting up again on Saturday at SeaWorld, so we’ll have lots more to tell you about then! Dawn doesn’t have a computer with her unless I take mine for her to borrow (like I did tonight), so if you’d like to leave her a comment here instead of her main blog, please do! LOOK! She vacation blogs, too! Well, at least checks her hundreds of emails.

Shamu or Bust!

Because of previous advertising agreements, I can’t write too much about my vacation on my other blog. I’d like to share the details though, so I’m writing about it here. The nice folks at Discovery Cove in Orlando are flying my family down to Florida, putting us up in a nice hotel, sending us to Discovery Cove to swim with the dolphins, letting us spend the day at Sea World, and basically giving us the royal treatment! I don’t think we could ever in a million years afford a vacation like this and the kids are all thrilled! Oh, who am I kidding? It’s not just the kids. We’re ALL so excited! I’ll take lots of pictures and update on this site when I can.

Off to finish packing now…

Storks Bring Money, Too

Moms are ingenious when it comes to making a supplemental income for their family. Mary Tobin ofStork Lady Stork StorkLady.com is no exception. While having four kids in four years, she found that she needed to provide a little extra income, and all the while, help others do the same.

Every mom loves having a little (OK, a lot of) attention when she brings her newborn baby home from the hospital. Having a proud stork out in front of her house announcing the baby’s name and stats is one way the Stork Lady informs the whole neighborhood of the new arrival. Stork Lady doesn’t limit their yard signs to just storks. Depending on your local partner, you can select from a stork, sailboat, a moon, or a baby carriage. Check out some of the local Stork Lady partners whole will provide the special announcement for the newborn baby in your life and some funny birthday announcements.

Stork Lady CarriageAs a business owner and entrepreneur, I have lots of other moms contact me asking how they, too, can add to their family income. Stork Lady is an excellent, inexpensive way to help out your family, and at the same time, making new moms happy. With a minimal (and I do mean minimal) start-up cost, you can have your new business up and running in a matter of weeks. Mary has over 400 women to back her up on her entrepreneurial opportunity, so if you’re looking for a great way to make moms happy and make money, check it out!

Super Nanny to the Rescue!

You’re trying to get dinner on the table when your husband calls to inform you that he’s going to be working late, your daughter asks you what the square root of 564,897 is, your son shoves a permission slip that needs your signature in your face, while your toddler chases the cat around with a blue permanent marker. The pot on the stove boils over, you rush to turn off the heat, your kids start yelling, name-calling, and stabbing each other with their forks as you strain to hear your husband on the other end of the phone. Then the doorbell rings sending the dog into a fit of barking which wakes the baby who starts crying. At this point, you lose it, scream at the kids to knock it off and threaten to ground them until they’re old enough to vote.

Sound like a familiar scene? Maybe it’s time to call for help. SUPER NANNY to the rescue!

Matthew, a casting producer for Super Nanny, is looking for families interested in being on the fourth season of ABC’s hit show. To get more information, fill out an application, or nominate a family, visit Matthew’s blog. Casting producers from Super Nanny are going to be in Florida the beginning of November. Check out Matthew’s Super Nanny casting blog, to find out times, dates, and locations to meet producers from Super Nanny in person. Come on - don’t make me put you in the naughty corner!

Spice up Your Blog

So you’ve been blogging for a couple months now.  You’ve gotten the hang of posting, adding pictures, and inserting links.  You’re becoming a pro at this and you can’t remember why starting a blog seemed scary a few short weeks ago.

Now you’re looking at your blog and thinking, “My blog lacks pizazz.  In fact, it’s downright boring.”  Those very easy-to-use templates are great when you first start your blog, but let’s face it, they can be rather ordinary.   If you want to spice things up a bit, but the thought of messing with html makes you break out in a cold sweat, then check out The Blog Cafe for a more fun, more personal design.  Mia and Ro, both moms, have created this company to offer “personalized designs for the everyday blogger.”

 blogcafe2.jpg

For only $35 you can choose a premade design from the dozens available and have it installed for you (no messing around with html!)  Or maybe treat yourself and your readers with a festive holiday design like this…

blogcafe3.jpg

You don’t like any of their premade designs, you say?  No problem!  Mia and Ro will be happy to do a custom design for your blog.  You just tell them your grand vision and they’ll make it a reality.

Because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, for every design purchased through October 31, The Blog Cafe will donate $5 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

If you have any questions about getting a spiffy new design for your blog, you can contact Mia and Ro at The Blog Cafe.
